On 7Dec50....Volunteered and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and participated in multiple combat operations vs America's enemies: Communist North Korea and Communist Red China in 1951 to the end of the Korean War 31Jan55....two [2] tours of duty in Korea during the War and R&R in Japan[2]....after the war I became a street-smart police officer; whereas, I was awarded/decorated with the Department's highest award: the Medal of Valor....I broke up a bank robbery in progress, by wounding one bandit and later the other holdup punk was killed....I was very successful in the American greyhound racing industry throughout USA tracks and also in Mexico from 1981 to 1994....I purposely remained close to the USMC ever since my boyhood years ceased upon becoming a combat Marine Tank Commander with the 1st Marine Division FMF [ Lifetime member since 10Nov51 in North Korea]....I attend annual Marine Corps reunions across major USA cities and prominent in USMC fund-raisers in Boston venues....in retirement, I perservered into another successful venture to become a published author and featured writer for various USMC publications since 1994 to the present; all of which, led to publishing my Memoir [2003].....for my literary acumen, I was invited and accepted to be listed in three [3] distinguished Volumes of Research and Reference [ 2000 thru 2009 ]....."Marquis: Who's Who in the World"---"Who's Who in America"--"The Dictionary of International Biography" [ Cambridge, England]; in summation, allow me to say....my four [4] years as a combat Marine in North Korea with the Fleet Marine Force was the greatest adventure of my life, I dare say....Semper Fidelis.....SSGT CHRIS SARNO-USMC FMF
