Looks like I am going with the majority of Jag believers today, and apparently Colts fans don't like to talk too much, looking at these comments. They must be as sick of Peyton Manning as everyone else. How many commercials is one guy allowed to be in before the gov't penalizes him for monopolizing? Isn't there an actor's union out there somewhere with people in need of a paycheck? I've had enough of that bulbous-headed, goofy looking dude. But he is very classy, I must say, even though it hurts me to. The remarks he made about Brady possibly breaking his single-season TD record was all class, all the way. Giving props to Marino and saying it was the team that set his record was very cool. I love watching him play football - especially when he loses; his pouting rocks - but no more commercials, please. Go Jags.
The Jaguars may just pull this game out against The Colts. Colts are due for a shake up and this Jag defence may just be the one to deliver this blow. Rattle Peyton and he does not get it done. This is a even game in my mind at best.
I am banking on Bob Sanders not playing, which will allow the Jags to bull-rush the Colts into oblivion. With Sanders in, who knows. He is a mean run-stopping machine, but those sore ribs could spell a break or two for the 5-foot-7 Jags running back.
JACKSONVILLE (4-1): I'm with you, LuckyLester! Second ranked defense and the fourth best rushing attack in the NFL. This game against the Indianapolis Colts could be the game that determines the 2007 AFC South champion. LAST MEETING: Jaguars running backs Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew will be looking for a repeat performance of last year's meeting when the two teams meet again on Monday Night Football. During that last matchup the Jags trounced on the defending Super Bowl champs 44-17. Jacksonville finished with 375 rushing yards. It was the second fattest total since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger. Only Cincinnati's 407 yards against Denver on Oct. 22, 2000, exceed it. But that was then and this is now. Jacksonville has won four consecutive games since an opening loss to Tennessee. They've yielded 282 rushing yards in their opening loss to Tennessee and have allowed a total of 200 yards while winning its past four games. I should point out that they have not allowed more than 65 yards on the ground in any game since that loss. TEAM STRENGTH: Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter has taken this team to new heights this year. QB David Garrard hasn't thrown an interception all season (knock on wood, Jags fans), and Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor may just be the best running combo in the league. But I digress. Defensively they're pretty solid, too. They've given up only 58 points this season thus far. You gotta think that for any team faced with the opportunity to go up against the defending Super Bowl champs winning a big game like this would be the ultimate challenge. The Jags are ready and they're not afraid of a little thing like Peyton Manning.
David doesn't make mistakes. He'll hand the ball off, and throw a little bit, but he won't illegally toss interceptions. That's why they went to Garrard, and that's why they have a chance. This is far from a sure thing, but on Monday Night, in Jacksonville, it's more of a toss-up than the percentages suggest, so I'll roll with the Jaguars and hope I pick up some points here.
