Landslide? –

Looks like you're calling for a landslide win, Master. Or at least hoping for it. I'm calling it closer, but still taking the Steelers. If they lose this game, I'll lose much respect for their game.

As for trends: the trend of my country losing all respect in the world's eyes, all financial power we once had, much of our military might and perhaps even the name of SuperPower has me hoping the landslide does happen in this election tomorrow. Even a country boy like me has enough edumahkashun and reasoning skills to know that anyone voting even indirectly for Palin should be shipped straight to Alaska to stay! (Sorry to offend many Alaskans...but you voted her in.) Actually, thinking of that, I take it back. Send them to North Korea where they belong. Don't ruin Alaska!

O-Lines, D-Lines, Betting Lines and Front Lines –

Trends are always interesting. One trend that should be the deciding factor in tonight's game will be that of the Steelers offensive line having trouble protecting Big Ben. If they can reverse that trend, they should be able to have their offense focus on slowing down Portis and maybe win this game.

Back to trends...

I just read in a Huffington Post article by Keith Thomson about how betting lines on the elections have historically been the most accurate predictors of elections:

"In the fifteen elections between 1884 and 1940, the betting firms were wrong just once, in 1916, when Wilson upset Hughes. And the gamblers might have had a perfect record had the Curb Market stayed open long enough to take into account late-breaking news from the West."

Crazy! Polls came into play only in 1936, according to Thomson's piece, but now betting sites - thanks to this Internet - are once again considered the most accurate predictors. They have given Obama a 91% chance of winning this election tomorrow.

Thank god...or whatever you believe in. Sanity might be coming back at long last. Palin can slide back under the Alaskan pipelines again. Bush and his regime of murderers and thieves can be impeached and sentenced to the front lines of their wars. See how long they last there...
