Moss just got a touchdown with 2:42 left. Not looking good for the Giants. They've had a great defense but have not been able to score.

Giants defense is going to force a halftime adjustment on the NE O-line. Wow, are they ever getting pressure. Still, the Pats should probably have had 2-3 more turnovers in the first half. The second half is going to be a completely different game.

Stamp Stomp –

Sure, Kirk, it could be done. Just like Hillary Clinton could bring fresh, new ideas to the White House. Just like the Bush administration could turn out to have been right all along and not just a bunch of criminal warmongers who should all be strung up before daybreak. Just like Eli Manning might eventually end up being known as a better QB than his big brother. No, some things are self-evident and this game is going to be the final, big, decisive stamp on the successful completion of the only perfect NFL season that any of us are likely to see in our lifetimes. It is, however, good to see that there is still hope out there somewhere in these darkened times. It should be somewhere around 27-10 at ther half, and New York might not score again after that. I hope Jeremy Shockey comes to watch.

Money On The Giants –

It's going to be a great game BUT I think the Giants have a shot of pulling of a big win here. It could happen.

Was thinking pats by 11 but truly feel now that they'll destroy them by 16, reminscent of a dallas/bills superbowl. The only thing of interest will be seeing a paula abdul wardrobe malfunction at halftime, and a bunch of old miami dolphins drooling in their ovaltine in disgust.

G-men?? –

No. No. No. It just can't happen, can it? I guess they deserve a shot after winning ten freaking road games in a row, but come on, man. This will not be eleven. People tend to forget that the Patriots could tie that road record only a few weeks into next season, and beat it in October, so even that won't stand for long. I hear that there is a book on Amazon already that deals with the Patriots historic 19-0 season. That, I think, is a little silly, but it wasn't from the team, just someone trying to cause a ka-fuffle. Good luck, G-men. You're gonna need it!

........SUNDAY@11AM GILLETTE STADIUM....... –

The Fans were here by the thousands to cheer on thier team as they boarded buses to Logan International...Owner Bob Kraft-Coach Belichick-Seymour-Seau-Bruschi-Brady all thanked the faithful for a looong season...and promised a WIN in Arizona...it snowed pretty good throughout and Patriot Management/personnel served up free hot dogs-coffee-cocoa...local TV news stations were out in force and Brady showed NO ill effects/pain of a sore leg at all...seems it was only precautionary and some 'chum' to throw to the media-sharks all week long...onto Super Bowl #42

Great Points –

You both make some great points here, gents. I really have to agree with the Tiki and Shockey comments, but not so sure about the Eli-love. In fact, about Shockey, I wrote to the Football Scientist, KC Joyner at ESPN today. It went like this:

Blake Butterfield (Vancouver, BC) : Hey KC! The man who took over for NYG TE Shockey is Mr. Boss, and he seems to have helped the team more than Shockey could have. His blocking is at least an acknowledgable part of what has helped make Eli into a more consistent QB. I know they have a lot of $$ invested in Shockey, but, everything else being equal, if you had to make the call and drop one of them, who would it be...and why?

SportsNation KC Joyner: Shockey has never been one of my favorites. His metrics are always mediocre and his distractions certainly don't help. Boss' metrics are better and he keeps his mouth shut. If financial considerations were taken out of the mix, I'd probably try to trade Shockey.

...........TWO DIFFERENT TEAMS......... –

The NY Giants made it the SuperBowl; that being said, only reinforces the Patriots worthy cause to win the last game at hand...the Patriot's work/week now is in progress...nothing will elude the coaching staff acumen...it is a veteran team of SuperBowlers compared to only two [2] Giant players of that same experience...dwell for a moment/think ...the Patriot mission is to go 19-0 now...it is a must or this entire mine/field of a season will be for naught...glorified NFL history is within their grasp...what more intense emotion must be needed for a MAXIMUM effort by each and every member of the Bob Kraft Organization...I truly believe it will unfold on the field...someone has to be the opponnet...viola, it's the NY Giants...this is more than just a game for Brady and Company...I see the Patriots as the winner by one point or a million, what's the difference....let the game begin!!

Ellli –

I think the reason for the Giants success can be attributed to a couple of things. First, they have more heart than any other team in the league, after all the injuries, and all the hate, they just find ways to get the job done. Not to mention Coughlin is proving this year, that he truly is the most underrated coach in football.

However, what I find to be a big reason why the Giants are where they are now and why they have a big chance to pull a upset in this game is this: Tiki Barber retired and Jeremy Shockey broke his leg. Shockey and Barber were stealing Eli's team from him, it was a game of this is my team, and for someone inexperienced like Eli, it was a tough situation. Now, it's his team, they look to him and not to Shockey or Barber. It's all about Manning and since being down 10-0 to the Bills, he's really become something else. Personally, I think he's better than Peyton. No, not as a passer, but as a leader and as a winner.

Pats by 10 –

wow, first comment. I was really impressed with the NY Giants and I think they've been playing their hearts out but I don't think their defense will be able to effectively stand up to the Patriots offense.
